Portraits from my project “Body experience” about aging and being a woman.
In Russia, body diversity is gradually becoming accepted in the young generation, under 40. But — this is only about the young body. Somewhere after 50, it feels like the woman’s body appears only in medical or “how to get fit” context. This makes it seem as if many women with their different life experiences live with some kind of invisibility around their bodies.
For this project, I took pictures of women aged 45 to 60 nude and asked them to talk about the relationship they have with their bodies.
